Arab culture is one of the oldest cultures on earth, formed through a long process of interaction among the peoples who lived in the Arab region throughout history. This culture is exceptionally diverse, with traditions and customs that stretch from the Atlantic Ocean in the west to the Arabian Gulf in the east.
Its characteristics appear in food, clothing, handicrafts, architecture, religious and social practices, as well as in literature, poetry, and folk arts. Throughout history, the Arabic language has been the medium through which science and knowledge were transmitted, and it has played a central role in uniting and gathering Arabs despite their different dialects.
Social values such as generosity, tolerance, and cooperation—reinforced by Islam—help strengthen the unity among members of Arab societies and remain alive, enjoyed by the Arab people till this day.
In the age of globalization, Arab culture has become more open and communicating with the world through science, arts, translated literature, and more. Nevertheless, it continues to preserve its authentic essence, presenting the world with a unique model that balances modernity and rich anchient heritage.
تُعَدُّ الثَّقَافَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ وَاحِدَةً مِنْ أَقْدَمِ الثَّقَافَاتِ عَلَى وَجْهِ الأَرْضِ، وَقَدْ نَشَأَتْ مِنْ خِلَالِ عَمَلِيَّةِ تَفَاعُلٍ طَوِيلَةٍ بَيْنَ الشُّعُوبِ الَّتِي عَاشَتْ فِي المِنْطَقَةِ العَرَبِيَّةِ عَلَى مَرِّ العُصُورِ. وَتَتَمَيَّزُ هَذِهِ الثَّقَافَةُ بِتَنَوُّعِهَا الكَبِيرِ والوَاسِع، حَيْثُ تَمْتَدُّ عَادَاتُهَا وَتَقَالِيدُهَا مِنَ المُحِيطِ الأَطْلَسِيِّ غَرْبًا إِلَى الخَلِيجِ العَرَبِيِّ شَرْقًا.
تَظْهَرُ مَلاَمِحُ هَذِهِ الثَّقَافَةِ فِي الطَّعَامِ وَاللِّبَاسِ وَالحِرَفِ اليَدَوِيَّةِ والعِمَارَة وَالمُمَارَسَاتِ الدِّينِيَّةِ وَالاجْتِمَاعِيَّةِ، كَمَا تَبْرُزُ فِي اللُّغَة وَالأَدَبِ وَالشِّعْرِ وَالفُنُونِ الشَّعْبِيَّةِ. وَعَلَى مَرِّ التَّارِيخِ، كَانَتِ اللُّغَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ الوَسِيلَةَ الَّتِي نُقِلَتْ بِهَا العُلُومُ وَالمَعَارِفُ، وَكَانَت العَامِلُ الَّذِي وَحَّدَ العَرَبَ وَجَمَعَهُم عَلَى الرَّغْمِ مِنِ اخْتِلَافِ لَهَجَاتِهِمْ.
كَذَلِك، فَإِنَّ القِيَمَ الاجْتِمَاعِيَّةَ المُتَمَثِلَة فِي الكَرَمِ وَالتَّسَامُحِ وَالتَّعَاوُنِ، وَهِيَ قِيَمٌ عَزَّزَهَا الدِّينُ الإِسْلَامِيُّ، تُسَاهِمُ فِي تَقْوِيَةِ الوَحْدَةِ بَيْنَ أَفْرَادِ المُجْتَمَعَاتِ العَرَبِيَّةِ وَمَا زَالَتْ حَيَّةً، تَنْعَم بِهَا الشُعُوب العَرَبِيَّة إِلَى يَومِنَا هَذَا.
وَفِي عَصْرِ العَوْلَمَةِ، أَصْبَحَتِ الثَّقَافَةُ العَرَبِيَّةُ أَكْثَرَ انْفِتَاحًا وَتَوَاصُلاً مَعَ العَالَمِ مِنْ خِلَالِ العُلُومِ وَالفُنُونِ وَالأَدَبِ المُتَرْجَمِ، وَلَكِنَّهَا مَا زَالَتْ تَحْفَظُ جَوْهَرَهَا الأَصِيلَ وَتُقَدِّمُ نَمُوذَجًا فَرِيدًا فِي الجَمْعِ بَيْنَ الحَدَاثَةِ وَالتُّرَاثِ الغَنِيِّ العَرِيق.
